Sword-Wielding Bloodletter of Khorne

Hi All,
I have recently got back into 40k, and have excitedly started collecting again CSM. I've been having a wonderful time, and have got into kit--bashing with much more rigour than the first time around. I have a few questions, which I hope you guys can give me some advice on.

1) I have recently grabbed some Khorne Berzerkers (concerning which I'm hugely excited, as they were my first ever models), and have been thinking about chain axe replacements, the kit only coming with 6. I have been inspired by a picture of a pretty casual, sleeveless Berzerker (http://i.imgur.com/7AUEIG4l.jpg), and thought that Blood Warrior arms and axes would fit this image quite well (https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Khorne-Bloodbound-Blood-Warriors). However, before I grab some I just wanted some opinions from those in the know as to whether they would fit.

2) The second question has to do with Possessed. I may be the only person in the world, it seems, who really likes GW's models. Maybe it was the lack of options back in 3.5ed, but there it is. I have been using their parts (mainly heads, arms, and legs) to make my Aspiring Champions for every squad in my army. The issue is that, with Possessed soon to be made better, I might be interested in investing in some. However, given how I've been using the bits, I don't think that the Possessed models will fit with my army. Does anyone have any thoughts on models (preferably, but not exclusively within GW or FW) that might work? I'm happy to think outside the box. I was even thinking getting Bloodletters, but I might pick some of them up to be used as Bloodletters later.

3) The other issue is Cultists. Not only are the models so difficult to get (particularly because I want auto-gun ones), but I am not a big fan. I was thinking getting Cadians, and then swapping out their heads. I like the hooded look, so I was wondering if anyone had any advice on where I can get some hooded heads. Non-GW places are fine for this. However, maybe I'm being a bit uninspired here, so I was wondering also what other people are doing for their cultists.

So any advice on these issues would be most welcome, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Hi Tony,

I am currently building a Khorne/Red Corsairs CSM warband, and I had the same idea for some berzerkers.
I believe that the bloodwarrior weapons would look great on them. The weapons themselves could give them a very gladiatorial look.
They don't need their armour, because they are the champions of Khorne, and Khorne does not care from where the blood flows...
On the other hand it would give the impresion that they have been removing their armour because of damage and a lack of recources to maintain it.
I myself like this idea a lot, as it adds to the realism of a warband hiding in the warp with diminishing means to survive. Very grimdark.

About the possessed, I don't really know of any third party models or bits you could use. However, yesterday I saw a post by Ezra Tyrius, who converted his primaris intercessors from the easy to build kit into Gal Vorbak. You might get some inspiration out of it. I'll leave the link here. dakkaforum/posts/list/734804.page

Using cadians is a very good idea for cultists. Puppetswar.eu has got lots of neat headswaps, including a couple of hooded ones. You might want to check them out.
You could also kitbash them along with the flagellants set form AoS. Their faces along with the tunics and parchments have a very tornentend and grizzly vibe to them wich could make for some sweet conversions.

I hope this reply is of any use to you. I'm looking forward to see what you will come up with. Good luck!
