My friend and I are just having some fun with the previous edition playing kill teams since we both sold a lot of our collections and have little time to play these days. I tried dropping a tau list last time and got stomped pretty hard by blood angels so I decided to put together a deathwatch team with some leftover marine parts I had.

How do you think this will fare? His favourite army is blood angels but he also has grey knights, imperial guard, space marines and tyranids. I kept this in mind when building my list as an all comers type deal since he always has the advantage of knowing I'm dropping tau and I never know what faction he'll use. Kind of unfair tbh so I went for the cheese

Deathwatch veterans
- (leader) Sergeant with plasma pistol and power sword 52
- (ignores cover) Veteran with frag cannon 47
- (infiltrate) Veteran with stalker bolter and deathwatch shotgun 27
- (rending melee) Veteran with heavy flamer and bolter 32
- Veteran with storm shield and meltagun 42

I have modelled all of this team with a chaos kind of theme and I will post pictures if people are interested. I could swap out one or two members because I have the parts to model up to 4 marines or so still.

Thoughts? What wargear or specialist traits would you swap?

They've come up with an 8th edition of kill team:

I feel like you'd benefit by dropping some of the Wargear in favor of more units - DW with their SIA hold their own quite well. I'm not sure what you need a melta-gun for when nothing can have a 2+ save.
