Okay, I showed my new bullgryn sculpts before. Well things have changed, and they got converted to join my Sister's of Steel, amazon themed army. So here is the first, and before you cringe...just remember, she is an Ogryn. I will admit, these were converted from ogre kingdom gutshield guys, and I don't think I'll do it again. They have zero waist and are very wide for size. It made her breastplate very wonky. If you compare her to my own torso sculpt you can see what I mean. In any case, painting skills mediocre of course, but I really need some help on this ridiculous shield I made. I love its size (it looks like a 2+ save to me) but I need to break up the bronze slabby nature of it. Remember, limited skills here but suggestions welcome. Have two more and hoping for inspiration before I finish.

Ok, first just a reminder of my Nork Deddog equivalent sculpt:

Ok, new one, help with that shield please.

Thanks Dakka.

The enormous shield have a great facade! Neat enough work, though when sculpting female miniatures it's usually important to get the hips broad.

Love the shield! Maybe rust it up a bit? Typhus corrosion + Ryza? Some bullet holes/craters?

Who's to say ogryn females have the same wide hips as a human female? It helps accentuate their mutant nature if they aren't just scaled up muscle people. I think it looks pretty good.

As far as the shield, I agree with a few others that it looks too pristine. It appears to be a makeshield barrier the ogryn probably yanked out of the rubble somewhere, I'd throw some wear and tear on it, with plenty of gouges and bullet holes.

Okay, damage to the shield, rust effects, all sound great! Going to work on that.
On the hips...the issue really isn't the lack of width at that point, if i hadn't used a ogre kingdom torso I could have narrowed the waist and gotten a good figure. Sadly, I made them as regular bullgryns before I decided to convert to my female army...I am currently sculpting the unit sgt. and it will show what I mean when I finish.
Thanks for the input guys!
