first i was wondering something about cables...
i know that there are some tools out there to make cabling etc from greenstuff but i was wondering if anyone has ever used plain old wire?
the wire that i need to use is small so it will be flimsy but i should be able to get it to connect to my model decently.
do you guys think having a small piece of wire that can be bent will be an issue?
its a power coupling from a gun to a backpack to it wont be long and should stay out of the way.

my converted scions have to have a power cord to their guns don't they, they just wouldn't be proper scions otherwise.

my second question is which head to use.
i have probably 100 wargames factory shock troopers that i am using for just about everything.

my standard troopers use the standard heads.
my veterans will be using these...
and now i just need something for scions.
i am adding a backpack and modifying a gun for their hot-shot lasguns but i would like to use a different head for these.

the idea that i had (because i have some) are both version of the skitarii heads and actual scion heads.
my army is all closed helm/rebreathers... are there any other cool suggestions on heads?
i know that there are a million out there but my hope is that maybe some of you have seen alternate heads on the shock troopers so i dont have to guess if they will work or not.

any opinions on which head to use?

You could go with Anvil's normal Stalhelm/Mask for your Veterans, and use the Skull Masks for your Scions..

You could also get a cable maker greenstuff tool (I really can't remember who do it - maybe Greenstuffworld?). Better than guitar string as it's far easier to cut and flex.

Guitar strings make great cables etc on mini's. And you can get the size you want easy enough. I'd go with that rater than messing around with tools to make greenstuff cabling. No point trying to re-invent the wheel!

As veterans are usually just guardsmen that have fought longer, it may look more consistent to just keep the same head and instead distinguish them with some sort of shoulder marking or campaign badge. Then give scions the death mask.
My guardsmen and vets use exactly the same parts but the regulars have plain fatigues while the vets have camo, so they remain distinct.

I'd suggest guitar string, though there's also these which should be easier to shape. If you prefer having texture they may be worth a look.
