I know the title makes it seem like an unusual thread, but the problem I'm having is that I'm trying to make "scenic" bases and I was wondering whats a good Base to start off with to build upon?

Well what kinda terrain so you want?

To many unpainted models to count.

Something thats good for every thinng as I'm not sure and sort of have a few ideas that I want to try out, but need a larger space than that provided by typical gw bases.

@hailhydra: Question:

When you say scenic base: Are you referring to:

1. Gaming base + scenic elements
2. Diorama base
3. Display "socket" (or plinth)?

Again your not telling me what you want, are you looking for actual bases to put stuff on that are bigger then the standard 32mm ?

Good at everything means generic

Dirt base is the most generic and will generally fit on every table

the only thing more generic is cut clear acrylic.

the second you get more scenic the more specific the bases will get.

I'm looking to do both diorama bases and gaming bases + senic elements.
So bases that are slightly larger than the standard for the gaming bases and somerhing very large for the scenic ones.

i think you are looking for the bases that characters from the FW character series comes on.

which i dont think anyone makes.

the best thing i can say is get bases that are whatever size you want and make a nesting diorama to magnetize them on for display otherwise i have no idea what you are looking for.

Model the terrain you want and match it to the diorama

Again you are being super ambiguous.

If you want scenic bases go with Scribor or secret weapon.

To many unpainted models to count.
