Ok, I got like 100+ painted models and for 8th ed. it seems that all my list mean tons of conversion or doing all the models from scratch.. Anyways, only few days until game day and my opponent will have a fully painted army for the first time and I'm trying to finish mine to a point that we can make a decent looking battle report, now with our new and ready gaming table with ruins etc..

Here's some current WiP pics, of the whole 2k list.. I'm in so much trouble, I'm leaving to my summer cottage for some hardcore fishing and there's no electricity, I still need to take few models with me so I can finish the rest of the army there. This is the only day I can do in a proper light anyways. There used to be a thread somewhere where dakkanians shared their current works in progress, but couldn't find it, so sharing this here if I could get some motivation to push..

I don't like the color theme of the venerable dreadnought, somehow it looks corny, but should be wysiwyg enough to be played as venerable? Also the Azrael is a kitbash, but noone should complain about me using that as him. I need to run those BA predators as DA preds, but who cares, right?

So here's some pics..

Those new primaris models are so much easier to paint when they are "sooo big", I got double Dark imperium and first strike and know no fear primaris models waiting a chapter to be chosen.. Now that I've painted some years I will pick so much easier ways to quickly paint lot's of models with table top quality..

My 2 cents for the overall look is to do something quick and easy to the bases. That will tie the models together visually and avoid any nasty clash or worse visual homogenisation between model and base.

I've airbrushed a whole Khorne force for a friend, priming and base colouring the minis with a red, but so that there is gradiation in the red for shadows and recesses. That leaves the bases red. Just painting the bases black is a gigantic difference.
In fact, when you take two steps back, the models look painted at first glance. ;-]
