Dakka. I'm trying to adapt to the new state of army building, where troops are no longer a requirement. But I will admit, it is VERY hard for me to admit that they are no longer useful.
So, I put this list together, trying to make use of some of the more powerful units in our army, while still making use of our solid troops.

Scarabs act as bubble wrap for the barges. Immortals are behind them culling deep strike squads.
Lord keeps the immortals on the table making reanimations.
Overlord pals around with the Praetorians as a counter-assault force to keep enemies tied up with the scarabs dead.
Doomsday Arks reach out and touch someone.

What do you think? I really could use some advice.

I actually don't mind the list.

The praetorians should be 350pts though, you have them listed at 280pts. The easy fix would be just to remove a unit of scarabs.

The doomsday arcs are not great, but taking 3 of them should allow you to hit a few times with them.

Time of madness

The voidblades got buffed in that last errata so use the pistol plus void blades instead. I had to remove the arms of my praetorians and switch to the voidblades as well. void blades have same str and ap as the rods, but give an extra attack, they are so much better. I even feel like I can run into a mountain of bodies with them do to a pistol and third attack.

Agreed on the Particle Caster/Void Blade Combo.
Considering they are equal price, they seem to provide more bang for your buck.

That being said, having looked over the index again, a squad of 8 equipped Praetorians should be 280 points. Unless the FAQ made them more expensive which it doesn't seem to be the case...little confused on that.

Nah you are right with the points. The earlier response thinking you had 10 of them got me confused. Just becareful with them since they don't have the dynasty keyword, but you don't have any crypteks so you should be fine there. I hope when a codex comes out they make a Triarch HQ or something since they aren't part of any dynasty.

Praetorians are not so great and very expensive. If you are playing objectives you need to have mobility which one you lack . The only mobile units you have are scarabs and pretorians. Scarabs can be killed very easy same as pretorians.

Alright, what would you recommend changed then? The Praetorians are really darn fast, and are better than wraiths.

To be honest, the scarabs are there to ward off deep strike and first turn charge cheese. Should they survive that, they'll basically hide on objectives while the rest of the army gets to work.

Destroyers are far too expensive to bring in meaningful numbers.

I ran two full units of destroyers and 1 destroyer lord. I felt I had as much fire power vs vehicles as 3 doomsday arks with my rerolling 1s in the hit and wounds. they were very resilient being faster allowed them to hit cover and them in cover it took their entire army to take out 1 unit of them. I got lucky and my opponent took one down to 1 model with 2 wounds left, next turn 2 got back up and he needed a second turn to kill off that one unit. two units of 5 including the heavy gauss cannon upgrade is 654 points which is a bit more than 3 doomsday arks, so you could really only run 1 or the other in my opinion.

The destroyer lord with scythe was 135 points not bad for a necron hq and did well protecting one of the destroyer units. Having the fly keyword on them seemed amazing when they did get assaulted.

Fly keyword, and the ability to be mobile is nice, but as I see it the destroyers are REALLY overpriced. You're paying roughly 75 points for a lascannon with fringe benefits for the heavies.

2 Units of 3 Heavies could provide anti armor sure, but I feel as though a respectable shooting force is going to focus fire them into oblivion.
