Subject: Expanding on the Dark Imperium set (Imperium)

Frightnening Fiend of Slaanesh

So I started playing in 7th edition, quite near the end of it's life span. I've always been lurking on the edges and decided to take the plunge with my Farisght Army, I really enjoyed playing so I picked up the shiny new Primaris Marines!
So I've got about 1000 points I think with the starting set and I'm looking at adding 500 points to my army, I've yet to decide upon a chapter as of yet, but I'm thinking Red Scorpions. I'm aiming on staying pureblood Primaris Marines as much as I can. But what do we all think, which of the new models are actually worth getting and can I even get away with playing only Primaris Marines?

So, the biggest issue that Primaris have as far as a "Pure" army, is the lack of anti-tank. So grab the repulsor, load it with the two lascannons, transport some boys and shoot some tanks. I am also a bit excited for the new hellblaster box, I think using them as pseudo-devistators with the heavy plasma guns and camping them in the back can also be effective.
Now, as far as red scorpions and Primaris, boy, I dunno if they would be down with this whole altering gene seed to make bigger bader marines. Seems heretical to me.

Yeah I thought about the redemptor, I'm kinda thrown up between that and the Dread. I'm seeing a lack of melee in my army thus far, so maybe I should get some reavers too! Do you think the Libarian or Apothocery are worth the points?
As for the Red Scorpion can of worms, I'm not sure how they'd react either to be honest! I mean the gene seed is meant to be less likely to mutate so maybe they'd like it, but I am still fluttering with the chapter side of things!

My army is going to be primarily based around a primaris chaplan and 9 reivers loaded into a repulsor. But I could see a solid army based around the apothecary and some agressors. Hard to remove, lots of shots, revives/heals. I think it just depends on how you wanna go. Gunline or more aggressive tactics.

I haven't run into the lack of anti tank, but I play casual and at lower points.
Hellblasters at a 10 man squad should eat just about anything in 8th.......
I too lack Melee, but I haven't purchased the reivers yet. I do like using Dreads and Inceptors for spot removal of melee units....(again, lower point games so I don't see many mega blobs coming at me).

I mean with what I've got from the Dark Imperium set, it seems to be a pretty good gunline! With all the buffs from the characters you can re-roll for days, and then you've got some striking power with the Inceptors, I guess they'll kinda play like Crisis suits. I feel like the army is going to be really fun but kinda currently limited for expansion if I want to stay pure Primaris.

regarding the red scorpions, and their likely reaction, according to codex space marines the Primaris Marines where fetted by the Crimson fists for their "purity and being closer to their primarch (geneticly) then any previous astartes" so one could make a case that the red scorpions would enthusiasticly embrace the Primaris Marines, as an exemplar of geneseed purity
