Heya, finished up a morkanaut just before and after some C+C. I'm aware that I may have gone a bit overboard with the weathering; I got a bit carried away :/ Overall I'm still happy with the result, but any feedback would be appreciated Also, for some reason the yellow in a couple of the images looks like a different colour, something funky happened with the lighting.

Yep, agree with the above. Looks great but the red is really standing out compared to the rest of the machine.

love your work but i also have a couple of pointers on the rust to really make it pop:
A bit of bright orange added as a wash & then some highlights of silver where bits would be freshly ground down, nicked or worn (eg the edges of the claw & the pistons).

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

I really like the weathering, looks very good!

Agree with the other posts, the red is too shiny.
The barrels etc. would have been perfect imo if you could see some metal parts and not just rust.
Not a fan of all rusted metall parts, even with Orks but that is just my opinion, still great work.

In regards to all of the comments about the red, what would be the best way to make it match the rest of the model? Would sponging brown/ metal and then adding the rust pigment be enough, or would something else be better? Just don't want to botch it is all :p

Adding rust to the red won't do much, it'll all kind of blend together. If anything, sponge metallics and make it look like the paint's been worn/scraped off to the bare metal, but hasn't rusted yet. At the very least you could do some "scratches" in a silver metallic on the red.

Also, right now the big jaw on the head kind of blends into everything else - maybe think about painting the "teeth" on the faceplate a different color or weathering those with some rust to make the front jaw stand out.

I've since added a wash to it, which has reduced it's overall impact but we'll see haha, not too sure on it right now.

And yea, the teeth sorta do just blend in. I'll chuck some metallics on and then some rust. Thanks for your throughts
