I'm building my first 2k list as an Astra Militarium list focusing on vehicles and infantry (I'm certain noone is surprised there). I've seen a box for the Agis defense line at my FLGS and was wondering if deploying it in my list would be a good idea. Being guaranteed cover behind the line seems perfect, but 75pts is a couple squads of infantry - is it really worth it?

Anyone with experience have an opnion on this item?

It seems like it would be worth it for Heavy Weapon Teams and Veterans, but not worth it for regular Guard and Conscripts.

Used to be, can't say it is anymore.

Buy it for some heavy weapons teams and access to an anti-flier turret maybe. HWTs need all the help they can get, survivability-wise.

Is there a reason it's more useful for HWTs than standard infantry? The benefit would be the same for both right? Is it a range thing?

Because HWT can usually hit all the targets they need to from where you deploy them, and thus, can stay behind the ADL the whole game.

The problem with HWT and the ADL is that they can't see over it very reliably.

Specifically, they can see over the lower part of the wall but the vision slots are slightly too high for them

This edition, I'd pass on the Aegis line.

You need to be within 1" of it to gain cover from it, and it doesn't provide shelter for Vehicles. You armorsaves are also crap to begin with, and aren't good with it, so I'd just pass on it and buy more Conscripts.

I would say no seeing as cover only applies if the entire model is with in the cover it's really hard to fit the entire guard blob behind that little wall.
