I don't have my books on hand and won't be home for a few more hours but my buddy is telling me, that summoning in 8th works just like in AOS. He says you can reinforce your summoned units at no extra cost. Example: Player sets aside 300pts for reinforcements. He decided to summon 20 plague bearers. He successfully casts and the units are conjured. The next turn the squad has taken serious damage and has lost half its numbers. Can the player summon again and reinforce the squad back to full health without paying points leftover from his reserve pool? Or would it take again from the reserve pool?

8th Overhaul!
Over 18,000 SM
Over 7000 Tyranids
About 3000 Genestealer cult
About 6000 IG
About 2500 Chaos
About 5000 Skitarii/Admech *Current focus
About 3000 Deamons
2 Imperial Knigts... Soon to be a third

Summoning creates "one new unit" (p.68) - it cannot be used to top-up an existing unit in play.

This. Though your friend is partially correct if we're being generous. If they have an icon, daemons have the chance to reinforce themselves at no cost. I think it requires they roll a 6 for ld test, but I don't have my hooks handy either.

Orkz is never beaten in battle. If we win, we win. If we did, we did fighting so it don't count. If we legz it, we just come back for annuver go, see?
