So I have an extra set of the Primaris marines from Dark Imperium. I plan to make them renegades with Chaos Backpacks,Heads,Shoulder pads.

Hows the best way of removing the shoulders as they are all once piece on the arm? Anyone done this already?

Maybe cut the arm in half at the point where it meets the shoulder pad and glue the bottom half onto a shoulder compatible with the CSM shoulder pad.

Some people have done it, and apparently it just take a loooong time and careful shaving.

Honestly, considering the work it may take - sell these off and wait on the multi-part kits?

I've done this a few times now and I find it a pretty quick process actually. A minute, tops. I just snip away the shoulderpad with clippers and then clip away at the top of the arm and shoulder until it fits into the new shoulderpad. A quick bit of green stuff to tidy up anything rough that remains visible (and there really shouldn't be anything) and you are good to go.

Honestly the really time consuming part of converting these guys is shaving the aquila off the chests and weapons. It's more time consuming than the shoulder pads, but not by much as long as you are careful.

Consider getting some chaos-y tabards as well to break up the obviously Primaris lower portion of the body.
