Hey guys, I'm looking for some help. A while ago, i thought I was going to make a Black Templar army, but then decided I liked the idea of World Eaters a lot more. The issue is I have a number of loyalist marines that have not yet learned of Khorne's power. I was wondering how to make these go rogue without just sticking a bunch of spikes all over them. What should I do with the aquilas on the chest and the adornments, etc. Any ideas would be awesome.

Just use your existing marines, but show/paint a lack of care for their gear. Have blood splashed everywhere, battle damage, trophies they have taken, maybe subtle skin color changes. After all, it's a long road to full chaos.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Slash Imperial symbols, add spikes, repaint them, etc.

In the night lords books they would break the aquilas and crack the details, so that would do the trick with the appropriate paint scheme.

Also, a few Chaos backpacks help sell it. My entire Chaos Space Marine force has almost zero Chaos parts in it - except a few backpacks. Just showing rust/corrosion etc. is easy to make marines look a bit evil.

The chest aquilas are a pain though - mine are all Horus Heresy models so I skipped them entirely.

Sorry, I didn't reply before now. I really appreciate all of the advice. I was just drawing a blank and this really helped. I agree that the hardest part will be what to do with the models that have an aquila, but you've given me ideas.
