Hi all,

quick plea for help, i've spray primed all minatures zandari dust and now i wish to start painting. Do I use the layer paints or use the base paints to start and work upwards from there??? im a bit at a loss, having not painted for a long time and i am just catching up with it all.

thanks,

Liam

It's not a bad idea to do a very light coat of Zandri Dust over, just because the pot version can be slightly different looking than the spray version (when I say light I mean LIGHT coat). However...Realistically you're good to start from the same place you would if you had just hand brushed the base coat on. That's the whole point of the sprays.

In this case i would start with a wash to darken the recesess. In this case a deep brown. Thwn, I always start with a drybrush of a light shade in this case probably an ivory.. Then I paint with thinned paints. The light drybrush shows through the subsequent layers if you paint thin coats and gives a natural highlight. Then highlight as normal. Add effects and ink some lines to add depth.
