Ave dominus Machina!

I need a little bit of help with conversion I'm trying to pull off. I really hate the Tech-Priest Dominus model and want to create conversion but found myself in a little bit of a pickle as I don't know which model to choose as a base for conversion:

First off is this guy:
https://www.games-workshop.com/en-AU/Astra-Militarum-Tech-Priest-Enginseer
I really like this model and since it stands a little bit bigger than standard marine he is also a right scale for my project. The problem is - he is also a unit from my index. Thought it may make for a confusing mess if I field him as Tech-Priest Dominus as people may think him a normal tech-priest.

Second are Primaris Aggressors:
https://www.games-workshop.com/en-AU/Space-Marines-Primaris-Aggressors
They are similar size to Tech-Priest Dominus and have some nifty backpack with ammo belts for their gauntlets (really dig it for my Macrostubber count as). All I have to do is rebase them for proper 50mm and add some Mechanicus themed bits (maybe also remove their aquilas)

Third option:
https://www.games-workshop.com/en-AU/Space-Marine-Centurion-Devastator-Squad
A little bigger than Tech-Priest Dominus. After replacing all Space Marines decoration with proper Mechanicus bits all that is left with them is to replace one Bolter with Eradication Ray and change the head for hooded one.

A little help would be nice as I don't know which would suit my Mechanicus army best.

Personly i would go whit the enginseer.

The old codex did mention that the dominus is more machine then human and imo it would look wierd to have a power armored clad dominus.

And since you are going for a conversion your oponent will see the difference between the converted one and the original one.

could do a leg swap whit say this model

Somewhere.

I dunno if you've seen Forgeworld's Magos Dominus but it's a lot different to GW's version. They also have a Titan Tech Priest which is probably a bit too fleshy.

The Warpsmith would take some work to de-Chaos, but has the size and lack of squidge that you'll want.

And if you don't mind third party, hitech has the BioTech Covenant that might be useful...

A Warpsmith! I never considered that... Thank you for great advice!

Yeah I also thought that this would look silly. Maybe if I stick more bits to his armour he would look more machine. I am afraid that my gaming group won't see a difference between a converted Engineseer and not converted one since they don't play AdMech.

well, are you planning to include a normal enginseer in your force?

my oppinion is that you would need ALOT more conversion work on power armor models to make them look mechanical.

No, I don't intend to get Engineseer for my force.

I primarily try to imitate the long robe with hood and some armour that Myrmidons do from forgeworld https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-AT/Mechanicum-Myrmidon-Destructors
Thought it can be all done with some greenstuff and bits form Infiltrators and Kataphron set (as I have a lot of "tentacles", heavy duty grabbers, some hoods from ruststalker princeps etc.)
Maybe just getting Engineseer is the right way to go though. Won't he look silly on 50mm base?

I am using a centurion for a dark admech conversion of mine. It is a great base as it is a large model.

I added a few of the small mechanical arms from the kataphron box. Replaced one of the cent's fists with a chainfist. Added in tendrils from the Maulerfiend and modified the mauler fiend magna cutters to hold ad mech guns.

The final addition is to create robes and a hood out of kleenex. I found a nice tutorial on BnC on how to do that.

There's nothing stopping you from, say, including a killing machine of some kind on the Tech-Priest/Magos Dominus base. Sure, the squishy guy in a robe isn't that tough, but the 8 foot War Servitor behind him....

Hmm another great idea. Would be more of a hassle though as I need an Engineseer and some monstrous creature.

I almost sold myself on the idea of using Aggressor though, as I think I can make him into something nice - I would use their gauntlets as mascrostubber and would remake their rocket pods into something similar to Volkite barrels. After adding some robe, replacing head with a hood and replacing their pauldrons with some armor from Kataphron box I hope to recreate a Myrmidon style of Tech-Priest.
