Malanthrope help everything to survive longer and allows me to have the spearhead detachment for +1 CP.
Devilgaunts and Trygons try to clear the Bubblewrap and cause a nice distraction.
Swarmy slingshots the Genestealers into the unit they need to crush
Carnifexes, Swarmlord, Broodlord and extra Genestealers unit cleans up the rest.

I think you may want to slip Old One Eye in this somehow. He's not much more expensive than a Stone-Crusher and does a lot more damage. He's also an excellent secondary target for Hive Commander if your genestealers are neutralized on turn 1. And he'll buff the stonecrshers in melee if they happen to be nearby.

I'd say removing a stonecrsher and 5 fleshgaunts for him would be worth it.

You are correct. I missed that. He could still take them as a unit of 2 but most places will require that they be the stand alone detachment that gives -1 command point

I like Old one eye but I would mostly take him once I have a full 3 Carnifex unit. I would definitely try to fit him in a 2500pts list.

I'm thinking OOE and a Barbed Hierodule, taking out 1 Genestealers and 2 Devourers from Devilgaunts.

I used to really not like the Hierodule due to his degrading Bs and underwhelming guns, but now I'm starting to see his value, which is how cheap he is for a superheavy at 380pts.
I think its possible to use him. and a list like this is great for him since the Hierodule is actualy quite fast and his shooting can scare people, and giving the opponent a big target to waste the big shots on.
Opponents will want to shoot him since his guns degrade hard but this will help Swarmy, OOE, Carnies and Trygons last longer.
