To kill time, some time ago, i made a slaaneshi space marines warband. I liked it a lot and since then it has become one of my favourite homebrew factions made by myself.
In addition to this, my actual favourite faction, the Sisters of Battle, still doesn't have either a Start Collecting or good-looking models, so the slaaneshi warband is one of my best options.
For this reason, i started to develop a certain interest for the daemons of Slaanesh, interest that has only grown with their new start collecting.
Now, since my factions' backstories are really important to me, i started thinking about some background info for a daemonic horde, which proved to be pretty difficult in terms of originality.
I having a really hard time thinking about some story, organization and characters that are actually nice and distinctive, making them differents from any other warbands.
Maybe some of you can help me out, not by making my background for me but maybe giving some advice on writing or some suggestions.

It is already been decide that this daemon warband will be a warband of Slaanesh.

Well you could do a major daemon of Xyz whom runs around doing something very specific.

like a daemon prince of slannesh whom goes around "inspiring" those whom they feel are worthy.

Or a korn daemon that really likes to fight a specific faction

Tzeench is an odd duck and nurgle generally has no real motivation other than love and friendship

there are stories of specific daemons that go do things on their own to serve their paitron god.

like the slannesh one that some how infiltrates a bunch of eldar. or the blue scribe that is dicking around the dark angels.


or you can be a hipster and do malice

Oh also you could do a daemon force based around a specific reality bending artifact. thats a thing.

Thanks for your suggestions, however, i've already decided that is going to be a warband of daemons of Slaanesh.
I guess it's kinda my fault, since i wrote it only once in my explanation, so i'll modify the text to make it more clear.

I am all for making a horde that adheres to the god's lesser known spheres of authority. Slaanesh is interesting in that as a god of excess she's resented by the other three major powers because of the way she encroaches on their territory.

What about faction consumed with a need for revenge? Torture and misery and despair beyond simple bloodshed?

following around a warband like the blood ravens. a pirate chaos war band that runs around with a ton of cool conversion bits and stuff from a BUNCH of armies.

As for Slaanesh, that's my army and you can definitely have some fun there. Slaanesh is a very "classical vice" themed god, so you could do things a like a greed themed, gem encrusted golden army. Or an army with a look based on ravaged drug addicts if you wanna go really dark. Slaanesh is also the most deceptive god after Tzeentch, at least in terms of appearances, so you can make something deceptively noble, heroic, or pretty looking. I had a bit of a warped version of medieval, chivalrous knights thing going with a few of my conversions, including a herald riding a ghostly unicorn, but I never went all the way with it. Or you could make them angelic themed. You could go for an insectoid theme and give all your flyers butterfly wings.

Daemons have A LOT of creative potential so go nuts!

An ethereal golden slannesh army would be really interesting.

like a bunch of those 007 girls running around.
