So, I just got home with my new Codex:chaos, and found that nowhere in the book is explained benefits of Marks of Chaos.

True, the benefits are not all explicitly stated (at least not in one convenient place). Here is what a Mark of Chaos does for you:

1) Makes you eligible to take the corresponding Icon of Chaos.
2) Makes you eligible to use/benefit from specific stratagems.
3) Makes you eligible to use/benefit from specific Psychic powers.
4) In the case of a <Daemon> unit (of Chaos Space Marines), a Mark of Chaos allows you to benefit from specific buff auras provided by Heralds, etc. (from the Daemon Index).

So, essentially, taking a Mark of Chaos is adding a <Keyword> that grants access to/use of other things.

Cheers!
