First robot of my Admech almost complete. As always, looking for any criticism to improve my painting!

I think if you could get the black area of the face to have more depth it would look better, but weathering is great.

Sweet! Love the freehand and the weathering. Colour choice is spot-on too

As for giving the black area of the visor more depth, a coat of gloss (dead useful stuff) would make it look like a visor which could work really nicely

Any future plans?

Great start here mate. I agree - another coat of black followed by gloss varnish would really work well for the visor.

I'm debating between red glowing eyes and the gloss coat on the visor. Thoughts?

I have 5 more of these guys to build and a knight. After that, really looking forward to doing up the forgeworld secuttarii titan guard, and proxy them as the staff electro priests.

Fantastic freehand! On the visor question, I'm wondering if a combination of both techniques might not be the answer: Deep set pinpoint of red in each 'eye' socket, translucent wash of black, then gloss varnish? Would provide a focal point to the faceplate, an illusion of depth and stand out from the excellent weathering on the rest of the piece (as optics likely would, even on a combat chassis).

My two cents, but really like this project!

Oh, what colours did you use on the bronzes and golds? I've been looking for something that actually looks like a burnished brass colour but without much luck so far.

I think that's the route too. Or you could do one pinpoint of red which doesn't even have to be centered. If you could pull off an old Cylon eye sort of effect even better .

I'll be following this for sure!

I vote for none. Just a cold visor to emphasise the cold, inhuman automaton nature of the robot, rather than making it look too warm or human-ish.

That's an awesome paint job you've got going there, great freehand symbols!

5 more sounds like it could get pretty repetitive haha, did you think of painting a couple in a terracotta colour scheme for some variety?

I think I will probably go with that approach. I really like the idea of going for depth. Have you seen anyone do that before? If you happen to have a pic of it that would be sweet! Thanks for the cyclops idea! I'll definitely be doing up a cyclops robot. That is very greek!

If the eye thing doesn't work out this is what I'm gonna do.

Thanks! Yeah good idea; I am going to do green as the main accent colour (skitarii cloaks for example) so some terracotta and green might be in order
