Good morning all.
Looking at starting AOS after getting heavily into 40k 8th edition and enjoying that type of ruleset so far.
I was into 8th edition old school fantasy and really enjoyed the elvish armies, playing dark elves and also high elves. However for sigmar, I would like to play Wood Elves/Wanderers but have a few questions.
1. In Age Of Sigmar, how do Wood Elves perform?
2. Can you freely just mix and match the order units and if I was looking to add in some of the sylvaneth units, how can this be done and in what methods?
3. Any ideas for some of the older models they no longer do conversion wise, such as the forest dragons or orion?
Also just any general advice for AOS wood elves is appreciated and welcome.
Cheers all.

1. I haven't played them but they are getting some buffs in the new General's Handbook (coming out next week). There has been some discussion on TGA about their effectiveness here:
http://www.tga.community/forums/topic/8798-lets-chat-wanderers-wood-elves-compendium/
2. You can include points for allies eg. 200 points at 1k, 400 points at 2k. Alternatively you can just include whatever you want but you will lose your Allegiance Ability (basically your racial bonus).
3. No idea but if you watch ebay long enough, someone will put those older models up for a decent price.

They are my last remaining AoS army, I am not a fan of them, at all. The sylvaneth are much better and feel more "AoS" than the wanderers. The forest dragon is ok, but I usually leave the sisters off. Orion and the hounds are ok. not great, but not bad. I use mostly light cavalry and eagle riders. most of the units that remain you can still get. Personally I find the army complete gak and would never recommend it to anyone. I would always recommend an AoS original force over a legacy army.

1) Mid tier, just fine. You'll enjoy them, a friend of mine does!
2) You can and cannot. Can in the sense that you could make an order army with just the two of them (gaining base abilities only). Cannot in the sense that, with the upcoming ally system, you can keep their bonuses but can only get up to 400pts of sylvaneth.
3) Mayhaps get a zombie dragon and get to paint him as a wood thingy? could work.

There are plenty of those forest dragons out there on ebay pretty cheap (some are ridiculous)

Hey, cheers all for the replies, appreciate the input.

What type or how are they being buffed?
Cheers
