Subject: Army of Greater Daemons?

I recently got my second (metal) lord of change, which means that now I only need two Keeper of Secrets to complete my metal Greater Daemon collection. That got me thinking. How viable is it to field an entire army of GDs? Presumably all of a single type would be roflstomped faster than a grot under a land raider, so how would it be if i had 2 from each of the gods?

Would be similar to a dreadnought army. In that it would just be swamped and tarpitted.

I went up against a Chaos Marine army that only fielded 8 lascannons and a Knight (avenger gatling)...lost Bloodthirster first turn and then Lord of Change the 2nd turn. With no real way to hide them due to their size and very hard to find terrain large enough to hide them behind, they are just bullet magnets :(.
If I went up against a Guard army likely would have lost both first turn and that would have been around 800 points gone turn one.
Unless someone else is having luck fielding them, I have shelved them for the nice hide behind anything 8 wound Demon Princes and Bel'akor. If someone is having luck running Greater Demons I would love to know how to get them across the board alive.

Take Magnus.
Go first.
Profit.
Bonus tip - Don't play against grey knights.

Daemons - and especially Greater Daemons - are in a bad place right now, and will be until they get their own codex.
Greater Daemons are in the mid-tens of wounds range, which puts them in the category of medium tanks like the Predator. They cannot hide behind other units. But the GDs have neither the armor [only the BT, out of the four, has 3+ armor], nor the long-range firepower to balance this out.
There's currently no way to mitigate their exposure and vulnerability to weapons like Meltaguns and Lascannons. They can't deepstrike [okay, they technically could, but Ritualling them in is very hard], and can't charge after advancing. They don't have the sheer amount of wounds that Titans do.
I proposed a few changes in the Proposed Rules section that would hopefully give them some more value for their points [they're rather too expensive currently], but not break them.
In reality, until their codex drops, you'd be better off just taking Magnus and/or Daemon Princes for competitive games.

Hrm, I can work miracles but it sounds like this is a complete lost cause. I guess in the meantime I can just have some fun with Zerks and Plague Marines.
