Battlescribe, despite having set a FW Imperial Space Marine Vanguard detachment, says I have one too many relic contemptor or relic deredo when I only have one.
What am I doing wrong?

Do you also have a non-relic unit in the sam eslot? I believe the FW FAQ added the stipulation that for every relic unit, you have to take a non-relic unit in the same FOC

How do you combine then? As you can't take a diemos predator on a regular marine list or deredo?

If you add the FW list first, then append a standard marine list to that detachment, add the relic, and then add the corresponding normal unit type from the marine list, it won't give you that error any longer of having too many relics.

You need one elite that isn't a relic for every elite relic you take. The same applies to all slots apart from lords of war, who got an exception in an errata doc.
So if you want a deimos predator you need a normal predator, or maybe something like a mortis contemptor.
It's a bizarre rule to be honest, but that's what it means.

See I tried that, I tried a predator, for a deimos predator, and still the rule came up, maybe an elite that costs at least as much as the relic?

No. Read my post. I use Battlescribe. The order you enter things matters. I had the same ussue until I read through the bug reports. FW list first. SM list indenture. Relic first. Then corresponding non-relic. Then you won't get the error.

I can confirm this works, fixed my list today by following the directions.
