Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

As we all know, GW is stingy. You can't make maxed units of lascannons, missile launchers or heavy bolters from their kits. So, what to people recommend as the most efficient way of building Havoc squads? Buy a havoc squad or CSM squad and buy a heavy weapons kit from FW? Multiple Havoc squads and make a unit with each heavy weapon? Something else?

Thanks.

If you need exactly two Havoc Squads, just get two SM devastator squads and a box of CSM and mix and match the parts. You can turn Heavy Bolters into autocannons by gluing lollipop sticks to the ends of the barrels.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

What's the difference between the Havoc and devistator sprues?

Devastator kit is nicer/newer/plastic and comes with two of each weapon.

I would go FW weapon packs and Older MK armor.

There aren't Havoc sprues, as such, they're an old metal kit converted to Finecast.

Personally, I'd grab a HH plastic squad off eBay, a weapons set off FW and raid my bits box to Chaos it all up.

Try the swap shop here or on other sites. If you want a weapon option that a kit only provides one of there's probably another player out there who has the same problem but with one of the options you don't want. If the bits small enough to fit in a standard envelope and you live in the same country you often only need to pay the price of a stamp each.

I would reccomend any of the older armour marks from fw calth or prospero with the forgeworld legion weapons and then if you really want you can even mutate convert them up a bit to be more chaosy.

The 30k underslung weapons are a reasonable price and you get enough for a full squad.

Mk3 plastic bodies and heads,

Chaos back packs.

Mk3 missile launchers and HB look and work well for chaos (older equipment)

you can convert the HB into a reaper auto cannon with a little work.

the lascannons, plasma cannons are going to be tough though. it may be best to get the forgeworld weapon packs for those.

Anvil industry or Kromlech for the weapons. Or evilcraft, but they are rather pricey (nearly Fw, but look better). Apply those to the CSM box or HH plastics.
