Hey guys

what are your thoughts? With the new weapon options and the ability to go full close combat, what are people feeling about using Blightking as Plague Marines! I think it would be kinda of awesome and flavorful. but opinions?

Sure it'll be awesome although I'd wait until the actual kit comes out. Probably loads of new weapon options you won't have in the Blightkings kit.

I'd get one of each anyway. The new kit will look great with the blightkings, and you can always hang some grenades or something from the new kit on the blightkings.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

As they are? I'd so no, they look more like armoured pox walkers than marines. However, if you do some conversion work with them that makes them look more like marines, I'd say yes.

Some people have already used the Blightkings as the basis for truescale Plague Marines with great success. A quick google search should bring up tons of examples.

The only thing is the new PMs are very much inspired by the blightkings (as are all of the recent nurgle releases, as it seems) so it may be entirely easier to just use the new PM kit instead of the hassle of converting them, but if you know of someone with extra blightking bits, they could add some variety to the baseline PM kit.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

As standard? Eh, probably not.

But mixing and matching some pieces both ways they'd look a treat, especially as Possessed.

I did a ton of conversions with Blightkings.

They have different configurations for each "body" (meaning legs and the back half of the torso). Each one has an "armoured" build, except for the leader guy. The legs are pretty fleshy except for the one with full armour and some only wear boots, without even kneepads. Pure 'kings are not 40k enough, IMO.

Backpacks, some Marine shoulderpads and helmets go a long way, but splicing in some Marine lower legs and arms (preferably Termi or Primaris or new Plague Marine ones, because the 'kings are chunky dudes) is what you'll have to do for real "Plague Marines" instead of "big scifi Nurgle dudes".

To drive the size thing home: a BK belly will have a real nasty muffin top on Indomitus legs! If you can sculpt fat folds to cover the transition it looks really good, though.

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.

I just bought a box , I'm going to use them as spawn in my death guard army. I love the models.
I have no idea if spawn are any good ?
