Facts are chains that bind perception and fetter truth. For a man can remake the world if he has a dream and no facts to cloud his mind. |

Edit: I just googled ablutions and apparently it does not including dropping a duece. I should have looked it up early sorry for any confusion. - Baldsmug

Wait, what were we talking about again? Did I ever tell you about the time I gave you five bees for a quarter? That's what you'd say in those days, "give me five bees for a quarter", is what you'd say in those days. And you'd go down to the D&D shop, with an onion in your belt, 'cause that was the style of the time. So there I was in the D&D shop..." |

Well, apparently they are good at not dying.
If you can find a use for such a talent.

Not if it's the only thing you do. You need to be able to destroy your opponent and move around the table to get objectives which Nurgle is not good at

Not so great. Pure Daemons took a big hit in 8th.
No longer do they have the awesome formations and random tables that made them even more powerful.
No more grimoire or invisibility, or even relics to make Tzeentch dudes near immortal. Of course, Tzeentch daemons are still the best ones out there now, but not nearly at the level they were in 7th.
Closer to the topic, there are no more shrouded, jinking Nurgle Princes flying around and wrecking face.
Plaguebearers and Nurglings are decent, as they make useful objective campers, Character screens, or deep strike denial units [Nurglings]. But the other ones aren't so hot. Even the GUO is noticeably less impressive than before.
Until the Daemons codex comes out, I feel that Nurgle units are best left to the above uses, or as combo-synergy with Chaos Space Marine units. They'll probably also find new uses in the upcoming Death Guard book

Yeah, I have been wondering what's happening to Daemons without Deathstars. Someone offered to sell me his Fateweaver and Be'Lakor models so I knew something was up.
The only Nurgle unit I have heard about that overperforms is the Bloat Drone. It's pretty amazing, actually, considering there's no way to knock out it's weapons without killing it.
Other than that, Daemons seem to be reduced to footslogging and summoning lists atm. A friend is playing a CSM list where he summons about 700 points of Daemons into each game and mostly uses them for assault.

So a starting Nurgle Daemon player would be wise to get the Start Collecting box first for the drones?

I mean, I plan on buying a SC box for basically every set of Drones I need. The price is so close, why wouldn't you? You can always use more Nurglings, and Plaguebearers are much better in larger blobs. There's nothing you don't need in that box, and it's a steal.
