Subject: Gencon 2017 army (Orks, won best painted)
Went 2W and 2L then had to drop for some other events I went to with friends, but did win the painting prize with this:
(sorry my camera isn't the best, there should be some better pictures posted by the people who ran the event at some point, and when I find them I will try and link them here)
These are some work in progress pics.
On July 2nd I was this far. I had the two boyz squads painted already as well as the characters and two ammo runtz. Although I went back and touched them up a bit, almost completely repainting Badrukk.
Here was the 1st Git I painted to get an idea of how I wanted them to look. They took by far the longest to paint. Gave them Red Rebork Sneakaz to run fasta, even though they don't do much moving.
All the Gitz:
Badrukk got a touch up job, last pic is the old one. Ghaz and the Mek didn't change much, just brightened some colors and fixed some paint chipping due to wear.
This was July 28th. Only the Gorkanaut and Wazbom remained to paint... all 68 grots/gun krew/ammo runtz were finally done... so many grots...
And finally the gorkanaut and wazbom

Congrats on the painting prize! I always found that and sportsmanship to be the most rewarding awards.
Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!
