Ive been hunting bits, planning conversions and such. I have been spending a lot of time hunting down various sword bits looking for something that could pass as a power claymore for storm warden tempest blades and such.

Then I ran into these.

In particular the larger double bladed ones. These look perfect! They apparently come from some Grey knight kits.

Couple questions about them though in case anyone is familiar with the bits.

1) Are any of those hands bigger then regular SM hands? I know grey knights often use bulked up armor. I mean... it wouldn't be too hard to cut out the hands and glue the handle and blade around another hand. Just want to know what I am in for.

2) How difficult would it be to use regular space marine arms to hold the 2 handed sword blades with 2 hands on the grip?

3) Are these bits very distinctly Grey Knight? Would they look super out of place on a Company Champion or Emperiors Champion? Vanguard Vets with Power Swords?

Thanks!

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

The ones in the first picture are from the Terminator kit, and thus will be noticeably larger than Power Armour hands. However, the blades from that kit are also significantly longer, so if you are planning to just take the blades and attach them to other handles (for example, the Emperor's Champion) and just want ludicrously big swords, they'll do nicely.

The second pic has regular Power Armour hands, and while the blades are smaller they are still significantly larger than your regular Power Sword, and taller than a regular Marine from head to toe.

As for the arms, you might find that using the GK right arm will allow you to use a regular Marine left arm (eg. a regular bolter-holding arm with the hand removed) but it'll be trial and error and might require a bit of cutting and gluing to look convincing. A better bet depending on your GS skills might be to just shave the Storm Bolter from the GK arms and smooth/round the forearm with a bit of green stuff (or cover it with a small wrist-mounted shield or buckler- GK Terminator shoulder heraldry plates actually work quite nicely for this).

As for style, that's really down to preference but I don't find the swords to be too obviously GK and have used them on various regular Marines without compromising or confusing the aesthetic plenty of times. A big sword is a big sword!
