This guy is the side raffle for this Summer's charity army (an Iyanden army, so Kraken is fitting).

I've been 'out of the game' for a few months because I broke my arm and have some wonky nerve damage. Ive had to try my best to paint under those circumstances, so I chose an easy paint
scheme (or one where having a shaky hand wouldnt be catastrophic).

For me this guy was a fun chance to sculpt for existing kits. The head, wings, and spires are all done in zbrush and printed with my Solus Micron 3D.

Thanks, I didnt know if Id like the Praying Mantis eyes on the head until I did them. Just goofy enough to work.

Yeah I think the style of painting also helps carry the eyes well. Out of interest how did you do the head conversion?

I sculpted it (and the wings/spires) in zbrush and printed it.

Thanks! I know its nothing technically challenging, but I still enjoyed painting a classic tyranid scheme.

I do, this was with some other head ideas and the original wing prototype.

Have to say I like the design of the teeth, they look far more thin and in scale with the model. I think you might be designing them thinner than GW does

Thats the joy of having a DLP printer, it can go down to some really small details, so you arent inhibited quite so much during sculpting by what may or may not be able to be printed.

Ive got some 23mm figures Im releasing in a few months that are very detailed, even when that tiny.

Impressive and it seems the layerlines of the printer are not much of an issue either!
