I am using Battle scribe, I have a Battalion detachment. , all good.
But I want to add an Assassin , how do I add them ?
I tried adding a vanguard detachment , but there is no HQ ?

Tied and gagged in the back of your car

You can put them in as part of any of your Imperial Guard detachments. Assassins have the "Imperium" faction keyword, and neither Assassins nor RG lose any benefits for running mixed detachments.

Battlescribe just happens to be kind of annoying when it comes writing mixed lists.

They fill the same battle-role as on their Datasheet regardless.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

Ok , thanks I worked out to add them in Battlrescribe , a bit of googling helped.

Do note that when the codex drops it'll be likely that you will get benefits for using an "all guard detachement". The best way to then use assassins would be an auxiliary detachement which gives you one unit from any slot at the cost of 1 Commabd point.
