Firstly I use the Heat ray on the Stalker, the Focused attack is only 1 less str than a heavy Gaus cannon, but you get the melta rule at 12*.
And if the enemy gets too close you not only have the good attack profile in CC you also gain a flamer, meaning auto hits no pesky 6's for over watch.

The Annihilation barge is great for zipping around and capturing objectives and flanking, I rig it with all Telsa so all the weapons are assault and no more -1 to hit when moving. Also even more chances for extra hit's on 6's.

Scarbs good for holding up the enemy or snatching an objectives, absorbing over-watch.

Destroyers for Days, 3 wounds and reanimation, that's a unit with a wound pool of 12, damage isn't carried over anymor, and they befit from crypteks and "my will be done".
I either Expect my opponent to target them first, while I run everything else up or if they survive / are ignored then thier good anti vehicle/ monster hunters + jump to get out of CC. And 1 heavy hidden inside for that d6 damage.

An overlord with an orb does sound good but the orb is 35pts!!, the Traveller on the other hand has better stats all over, with a warsythe he hits on 2's, Srt 9** - 4AP, and' Lord of Pyrrhian Legions': +1A to all friendly infantry within 3", check the Travellers stats they contain the keyword Infantry so unless I'm wrong he also bents.
6 wounds.

Wraiths one of the few good CC units, fast and good at tying up the enemy, if forgotten I zip them around the enemy's rear to steal objectives, and ignore terrain so no hiding.
I also give them some pistols for surprise shooting. (every bit helps).

If I don't run the Lycheguard I use some Deathmarks instead, lose the pistols on the wraiths and have an 8 man team of Deathmarks!

Its alright, just needs some tweaking to be okay

Firstly, swap the 5 tesla immortals for the 10 gauss immortals, tesla is mathematically better in all cases until the gauss gets into RF range.

The stalker is good, but its used best to give out its RR 1's buff to other vehicles (DDA for example, having D3 shots means you have to make every one count). In a list like this you can use it more aggressively. I almost always run it with the THGC, due to having a superior range it will be safer for longer, as it doesn't have QS so its substantially more fragile than our other vehicles.

Anni barges are good, when you have lots of other vehicle threats to draw fire away from them, but otherwise they are also fragile, and you only have 2 other vehicles to draw fire away, and realistically only one as noone will care about a GA, as its buffing a terrible unit in warriors.

This list is very slow, with all of your main damage coming from the destroyers and lychguard.

Destroyers are okay, but dont think that having 12 wounds on 4 models is good, all that needs to take them down is 4 shots from a D6 damage weapon, a single devestator squad with lascannons will oneshot this unit. They are actually not that survivable.

Anrakyr is very good with lychguard. Yes he benefits from his own aura, however you are footslogging them, like I said your list is very slow, meaning you will have to face volley after volley of shots before you can start to do damage.

Wraiths are okay, their damage output isnt atrocious but also not amazing, remember its 8th edition now, nothing can be tied up in combat anymore, if you are aggressive with them & charge a unit, you'll do your damage but then they will just fall back and you will be front and centre to receive the shooting wrath of the rest of the army.

Ghost arks are okay, but dont put them near D2 weapons as they will be 1-shot if they have enough shots.

19 warriors are terrible, again you have no way of getting them into RF range so its an even harder mission to get them to be relevant in the game.

I would personally drop the anni barge, add in a DDA, swap the heat ray for a THGC on the stalker, drop the destroyers for a Deciever C'tan and more lychguard (using a CP to try and get at least a 3+ on his redeploy so you can put the 10 lych and anrakyr in cover t1 so they can wait until they can charge t2). I would drop the warriors and GA completely, make it 3x 10 immortals, w/ 2 with tesla and 1 w/ gauss (if you want to keep a battalion). I would drop the cryptek for an overlord and keep him and szerath with the immortal squads, thats a much more efficient shooting platform.

As always, if you have free points put them in scarabs, they are probably top 3 units in the index atm, very points efficient for what they offer. Fast, lots of wounds, buckets of attacks.

Deathmarks are like all snipers this edition, look good on paper, almost never perform on the tabletop.

Cheers for the Advice!!

The Stalker does have QS.

I might swap around the Immortals for Telsa and keep a 5 man of Gauss for anti vehicle/ heavy.

I completely see where you coming from with the warriors, but I've battled with 20 of these guys before with a cryptek for the 5+ invul and 4+ reanimation, adding in the GA i get to roll again and bring more back, it has QS and if i keep it behind can cover their rear and att to the shooting, Also if everything is going bad it can zoom over and take a objective.

I've seen the Deceiver strategy, and it works if you get a good roll off, but if you don't or your charges fail or poor rolling losing the deceiver and the lycheguard is a big blow.

*Destroyers are okay, but dont think that having 12 wounds on 4 models is good, all that needs to take them down is 4 shots from a D6 damage weapon, a single devestator squad with lascannons will oneshot this unit. They are actually not that survivable.*

Its just the 3 wounds each, but the odds of perfect rolling all hits from 4 lascannons, 4 wounds (likely), and over 3 damage with each weapon seems highly unlikely.
They would have to be target by another lascannon squad/ vehicle or more depending on how the dice are rolling. Which is a lot of shooting directed to one unit.

Deathmarks are better than other snipers but only because their special deep strike rule and rapid fire. but there a left over points/ distraction troops.

I'm really hoping for some good formations i the necron codex release next year. and maybe some tweaking, like QC on a monolith! (pipe dream)

I keep forgetting that!!! haha i don't know why its stuck in my head as not having QS.

Have you ever actually got the 5++? are people actually pointing ap-3 weapons at basic troops? :/

The deciever strategy is better than walking up the board, the lych will almost never do anything unless you get a lucky deepstrike against you and they have poor target selection.

Yes I understand its not a perfect world, but besides the stalker, what would a devastator squad point at? Infact I would focus the destroyers first due to not having QS.

They are a scary unit (alot of it is left over fear from 7th) so they will be targeted, especially if you dont have many other threats for lascannons and their equivalents, which you dont. Like I said destroyers put out more damage than a single stalker and GA, and have no QS. So they would be the first thing to die.

If you have points left over you should be getting more scarabs, cannot iterate enough how good those little buggers are.

Probably almost certainly not getting formations, as noone seems to be, they seem to have gotten rid of that mechanic. We will get cool strategms and relics but that wont be for units, just army wide/HQ's.

Try out warriors, but there are a lot better points investments to be had. Look at it this way, could you spend nearly 500 points on any other unit that would do better than footslogging basic troops that wont get RP if your opponent knows what their doing?
