Getting back into the game, and just wanted to see what the meta or tier list are like, any feed back would help and thanks for your time.

Make some research in ''Tournament Discussions''.
But the 8th ed. is rather new and so everything is in fluid.

As a trend, you might consider an UM army led by Guilliman or an AM army. AM is probably the best army out there in the 40k universe atm.

From what I have read in the forums, IG seems top tier but YMMV.

# of Unpainted/Unassembled > # of Painted models.

Ive just got back into it myself and went admech, so far found them very effective although i have only fought my wife with her DE army but i am so far undefeated.

Find a way to get tons and tons of Conscripts for really cheap, like 100 conscripts, and then a commissar or two, and then fill out the rest of the army with anti-tank options because those Conscripts will be all the anti-infantry you'll ever need.

It's the current cheese. Talking to a GW manager, hopefully we'll get a 'Chapter Approved' sometime in the Winter that'll fix the shenanigans like that, but until then, throw a ton of models on the table and win.

I've seen armies with Conscripts. A bulb of Conscripts in the centre of the table slowing moving forward. Its a boring way to play.
