in the narrative missions it uses various different reserves rules.

Are you restricted from deploying reserves more than 9" if the mission doesn't state it. For example there is a narrative play mission that has reserves coming in from the table edges but I couldn't see the more than 9" restriction in the rules. does it still apply?

If the rule says it applies it does. If it doesn't it doesn't.
