Perfect Shot Ultramarine Predator Pilot

I'm looking for some advice on how to equip a Relic Leviathan dreadnought, when I do eventually purchase it. I typically run my Space Marines as a primarily-primaris army, augmenting it with a few normal Space Marine choices, and using Roboute Guilliman as the lynchpin of the force. I swap between Ultramarines, or Raven Guard(Not using Robert in those times obviously) Chapter Tactics depending on how I feel that day. I tend to avoid using vehicles, aside from a Repulsor and sometimes Razorbacks, so Infantry and Dreadnoughts make up the bulk of my forces.

The area that my force tends to lack, is a big scary melee beatstick that CAN be front and center and moving up to threaten the enemy, since Roboute typically wants to stay in the middle of the force.

So I'm wondering if it's a good idea to build it as a melee monster, or just have it double down on it's shooting options to add to my armies already strong and relatively durable shooting. And if it were to go for shooting, which sort of guns tend to be more efficient on it?

Thanks!

It depends what you want it for.

For assault, I'd honestly just get the two contemptors that you could have for the points it costs. They are faster, and each one hits almost as hard in melee as the leviathan.

For shooting there are various option. Personally I like double storm cannons.

I'm not sure it's worth having one gun and one fist. That armament means you have only 3 attacks, and not amazing firepower. It's still a powerful and tough unit, but other things do more damage for its price.

I do a Grav and Drill. Balance between shooting and melee.

The Grav Flux Bombard is insanely good. It can crush vehicles and demolish hordes with equal ease. The 2nd arm can be either a gun or a CCW depending on your preference but if you are not taking Grav, why are you taking the Leviathan?

Good Leviathans shoot. If you've got Guilliman going for you then double StormCannons to murder everything in the whole world. If not then Grav Bombards do the job nearly as well and can outperform it vs massive horde units. Close Combat Leviathans just don't do enough damage in relation to points spent and you'd be better of with Relic Contemptors or Ironclads.

Double grav is nutty, grav and stormcannon is a dependable choice and double storm cannons are also nutty. All of these loadouts are good against vehicles and infantry.

I agree, Grav and Stormcannon. Go elsewhere for your CC IMHO.
