Got a question for my fellow modelers out there:
Has anyone got any ideas on a good source material for avenger gatling cannon gun barrels?
I acquired an Imperial Knight kit a little while ago at a good price as it was missing a few pieces on the sprue. For the most part this hasn't been a big deal, but I'd like to magnetize the battle cannon mount to be able to switch it for a gatling cannon if need be.
The only problem I'm having is determining a good source for the barrels.
Can anyone think of a particular type of straw or similar material that would work well for this? I suppose I could go the route of using some sort of drinking straw(s) but I'd prefer something a bit less flimsy...

Drinking straws probably wouldnt work as the material is too thin.
if you are desperate you could do plastic Q tip that are like 1.5-2mm thick
or even some plastic tubes from ink pen cartridges.
or just buy some plastic tubes from ever green.
otherwise you could also bastardize the hades cannon off a forge fiend if going chaos,

Coffee stirrer straws would work I would think. They are pretty stiff.

Thanks for the replies - pen cartridges might be my best bet. I'll have to look into it.

3mm styrene tubing from evergreen. You need 7 lengths. 1 central, the other 6 around it. Get some 10mm while you are at it. These form the rings/shroud around the barrel cluster (internal diameter just fits over the cluster of barrels. Like on this punisher cannon.

As chromedog said, just buy Evergreen plastic tubing. Stuff works like a charm and you won't have endlessly fiddle about trying to find the right size pens or what not. And it's not even as expensive as all those pens lol.

I'll have to look into it some more.
Their product definitely seems like a good fit - but it looks like they don't ship outside the US?
Their retailer link isn't the most straightforward thing, either...have any recommended outlets that ship to Canada?
Like I said though I'll have to take a better look when I have the time.
Thanks everyone.

Another alternative is that Blood and Skulls makes their Heavy Chaingun weapons, which will fit directly onto the battlecannon mount without a problem.

Depends where you live, almost all hobby stores carry their product that I've been to in Canada. But depending where you live (it says eastern ontario) they might not.
I live in Ottawa and all 3 true hobby stores stock it.

If I can get evergreen and plastruct in Australia, that's kind of living proof that they DO ship outside of the USA - I find it hard to believe you can't get it in canuckistan. It's not like there are oceans separating your two countries.
Any good hobby shop (NOT a games store. I'm talking the stores with model kits, model railway, r/c cars (quite often, here) ) - they usually have balsa and sheet/tube/rod styrene and bits as well as all the glues, paints and whatnot to go with them.

Thanks all. :3
I'll have to check the local hobby shop - unfortunately I kind of live in the boonies so I'm not exactly spoiled for choice unless I fancy a trip into Ottawa (which, unless I have something else to do there, I probably don't).

Out in the boonies of Eastern Ontario? Colour me curious, so am I.
I know if you call them up, Hobby House in Ottawa stocks Evergreen in a collection of varieties, and they will ship it to you without a problem.

Westlakes or Ace Hardware stores have the brass and Al tubing. It works great as well.
