Looking for some ideas for making easy to make necron style terrain. I'm currently limited to using foam so please keep that in mind. Im currently making a tomb and some obelisks. Will probably make some sarcohpagi afterwards but would like some more ideas to try and fill up the battlefield a bit more. If you have any links to share please do and/or include a picture it would be greatly appeciated.

As well as the Obelisks you could do some larger crystals out of the foam easily enough. That's been done before I believe by someone on DakkaDakka so you should be able to find it with a search. Simple, relatively easy and can add a bit more to a Tomb World landscape as well as creating some nice cover features.

Crystals are good - and you can make small ones out of sprue relatively easily

Other than random engines/containers or other 'artefacts' of dubious purpose, covered in necron runes, I might do some emplacements or walls kind of like the Tau ones, only with a necron theme

Here are some necron style mdf buidlings from tt combat

They look simple enough to make something similar in foam.

Why not simple rock formations or hills?

I like the idea of making some walls for some better los blocking terrain. I'll probably just make some pretty basic walls and paint some necron symbols on them similar to the ones that are on the website minisnatcher posted. I was thinking about doing some sort of portal but not sure how to do it without looking cheesy.

I already have some rock formations and hills that i made a while ago, but some new ones with crystals on them would be cool. I actually have lots of terrain made but i wanted to add some variety because using the same stuff every game gets a little stale and i just got myself a necron army so this seemed fitting.

I've made some like this using clear plastic instead and they turned out good, and they are cheap so if you fail its not that big of a deal.

Thats pretty cool. I dont have a gold like he has in the video though. Do you think a watered down gold would do the same thing? My original idea for the portal was to try and paint it like a rick and morty style portal by just kind of swirling a few colours around. I might still try and test that to see how it looks. The clear plastic with the hot glue on it does look good and i think i might even have something like that laying around.

Yeah it would totally work to make a rick and morty one! you probably dont need a boarder. Yeah just wash it with green then dry brush a yellow green over it, and seal with a gloss varnish. Make sure to hot glue the edge to make it look more bubbly.
