Hi all,
I want to create or purchase black 1000 Sons decals for a white schemed army.. The snake eating its tail for both shoulder pads and vehicles as well as the stylized eye for the other shoulder pad in in black as well. .
I have seen the custom decal software and paper at my local Hobby Town/ online and also see companies that sell decal paper. I do not really have access to a laser printer and that is the way I would want to go for high quality.
Does anyone have any experience with printing decals they can share?
Or does anyone know a source to make an armies worth of custom decals?
Thanks!

These guys have good prices and a ton of options. A 8.5 x 5.5 sheet is $35.00 for the first and 15 for each reprint. But with a 8.5 x 5.5 you could lay them all out in the various sizes you would want including vehicles and gak and you could probably do your entire army on one page.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Printing on a good inkjet will work just fine. Make sure you spray seal the decal sheet after printing and you shouldn't have any problems. Bolter and Chainsword has a huge repository of decal sheets for nearly every chapter imaginable.

Not as hard as you might think, even if you do not have the printer. Buy your own laser print decal sheet. You just need to know whether you want clear or white based on the color of the decal and the color you will put it onto.
1. Find the image you want. Copy it and paste it into any document (Word for example). Copy and paste it as many times as you can to fill the page, or how many you need.
2. Copy the document onto a USB drive
3. Go down to Kinkos, give them the USB drive and the decal paper and tell them to print it on a color laser. You may want to spend another couple of bucks to have them print on regular paper first (if you have not done this already) to make sure all is good, nothing cut off, etc.
4. Be sure to seal the decal paper. If you do not have the Decal Sealer spray, just use any clear acrylic spray. It does not need to be heavy - keep it a very light coat.
Then have loads of fun cutting and applying. Be sure to follow good decal techniques with a smooth surface (clear coat area, if needed), use Decal Set, etc.

Wow, lots of great DIY options plus the Fallout Hobbies lead looks good to. I wonder if they would do a 1000 sons symbol or or something near it.
Thanks everyone for all you comments, lots of great ideas here.

I've used him, he did a custom symbol for my Skaven army on a set of decals
And he was very quick.

I just placed an order with Fallout and sent them artwork. Looking forward to the final product.
Lots of great ideas and might experiment one day with making my own though going with this option for now.
Thanks again everyone for all your suggestions.
When I have applied them I will start a thread in the Showcase forum and post pics... one day, maybe...
