Hello all,

Recently finished make my own gaming table. I added some features to make it fit to my play style. I installed a LED light system and a dry ice fog system to add some special effects. Sorry about the crap in the background of the pictures...I built and keep the table in my garage.

Let me know what you guys think and what you would pay to have one of these made. I have thought about making more for gamers in my area. Thanks!

I'm not going to re-read the lunacy that is the last few pages of this thread, but I'd be very surprised if anyone actually said that. Even that one guy banging on about how relatively difficult it might be for an Inquisitor to acquire power armour, I don't think even that guy said that.

I like the stain and the side pockets. The LED arn't my thing. Cool design overall

I'd pay $500 ish for a table like this one

That is lovely

I'm not much for he lights and dry ice but I can see the appeal - plus it'd be cool for RPGs too

I have no idea on pricing, I have no place to put such a monster anyway so I've not ever looked up gaming tables for comparison

Good luck if you do decide to try to sell some

Looks pretty good. Agree that the LEDs add nothing to it for me. I think the end tables are a bit on the long side (are they removable?). I think the height of the side walls is good --- not too tall to interrupt determining line of sight, etc.

Like the stain and as long as it sits flat, well done!

I actually really like the idea of black lights on it, to show off hidden messages/graffiti on the terrain.

I'd rather see it were the side shelves can be hidden away, maybe pushed in, and have a top to cover it. When I look to buy big furniture I want it to be able to handle multiple purposes, can't have a dedicated gaming table taking up loads of room.

Another great addition would be shelves under the table for storing all of your nice terrain.

As to pricing.... I've seen gaming tables go from $500 to $1500. For this one, I'd say $500-600 would be a good price since it doesn't have those other features. If it did have the features I mentioned it could go for closer to $800. If you wanted to add more to it you could wire in power outlets to give players a way to plug in. That would push it up to around $1000 or more.

That is a nice looking table.

Like some of the others mentioned, I would have the ends either detachable or able to fold them down for space. Maybe could even have them slide in and out like a draw as another option. Possible shelving options underneath, and having a top that can make it flat, so the table can be put in the dining room, used for dinner then cleaned off and a game played on it. I say that since some don't have much room to have a dedicated table for gaming only.

You have options for lights, fog machine, color and you could be in business. Another option, different sizes.

I know there is a kickstarter going now, https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/972632882/table-of-ultimate-gaming-the-ultimate-game-table-s?ref=nav_search

That can give you some ideas as well. Its a nice table but rather expensive. So if you can make them cheaper, you could have a product you could sell I'm sure.

Thanks for the replies

If I decided to start making these tables to sell, I would make the lights and end pieces optional. Those features were more things I wanted specifically in a table. When we built the table it was off the top of our heads. We made a few mistakes and would know how to build it better next time. Some features we talked about would be making it collapsible so it does not take up as much space and adding storage options below. I like the ideal of making it double as a dining room table but that would increase the price quite a bit.

Thanks for the input everyone.

something I just seen on dakka, someone posted that ultmate gaming table link in the news and rumors forum, and like someone said, its not any size that table top gamers would use, a 3 x 5 table is to small or to big depending on the game you are playing. So something to take into consideration as well, having the play surface 6' x 4' and then having the sides on it.
