maybe i'm missing something, but I don't see how Be'lakor can use his dataslate's Daemonic Ritual ability.

The Daemonic Ritual rule on Chaos Codex page 68 says:
You can summon one new unit with the Daemonic Ritual ability to the battlefield [...] so long as it has the same Chaos God keyword you chose at the start

But Be'lakor doesn't have any of the four Chaos God keywords. Can he be summoned?

I was going to say you were reading it wrong, but in fact it does seem to be impossible to summon an unaligned daemon. Actually though, given that Be'lakor is the only daemon that absolutely can't be dedicated to a god (Furies and the Soul Grinder can both get God keywords), it's probably intentional. Be'lakor isn't known for being co-operative...

On a related note - I'm not by familiar with the fluff on him... If he be can't be pledged to any God, who's his patron?

Demons are a psychic extension of somebody, and somehow I don't think the ruinous powers are all pitching in to maintain Be'lakor's demonic figure....

Froth at the top, dregs at the bottom, but the middle - excellent

they are actually. That's his lore. all 4 made him. But because of that no on god can control him so doesn't have an allegiance to any of them

He's a bit odd because he's actually a Warhammer Fantasy character. He was the first daemon prince in the Warhammer world and always sought to become a Chaos God himself. He was jealous of the Everchosen and schemed to undermine each one that arose, but whatever he tried to do always ended up playing into the Gods' hands instead. At some point he was banished to the Chaos moon of Morrslieb, from which he fell on a warpstone comet in IY 2000, destroying the city of Mordheim. He reigned in secret as the 'Dark Master' from the crater, and when the city was razed turned his attention to the Isle of Albion, whose ancient magic defences he undermined by manipulating various other powers. This ultimately led to the crowning of Archaon as Everchosen (that the Gods forced him to participate in), and the End Times that destroyed the Warhammer world. Evidently he survived the ensuring cataclysm though, travelling through the Realm of Chaos and eventually coming to the Mortal Realms where he continues to plot and scheme in the Age of Sigmar.

His 40K fluff is basically the same inasmuch as he's the same tricksy little git who refuses to follow anyone. He only exists in that setting because GW wanted to sell an eBook supplement with rules for him in both systems a few years back.

He sounds like Starscream to me, which in a way is enough to make me like the charecter lol.
