How would you feel about using my Death Guard as Chaos Space Marines with the Mark of Nurgle ?
I'm really struggling with the Plague Marines and Death Guard.
So I can mark everything Nurgle and use the Chaos Space Marine book ?
What Legion should they be , just a renegade legion ?

That's pretty kosher. As long as you have a consistent and not confusing method of distinguishing the nurgle marines from plague marines, like making all your plague marines nurgle marines. No one should have a problem with that. If at some point you want to run something like nurgle marked chosen then I'd recommend buying regular chaos space marine kits so you have something to run as nurgle marked marines and something else as nurgle marked chosen. Automatically Appended Next Post: They really didn't throw you a bone in the legion department though. I'd say maybe either black legion or word bearers for the morale buffs? I mean it's about as close to disgustingly resilient (or whatever it is stuff marked nurgle is known for) as you're going to get to see less of them "die" from morale issues.

Most people would be perfectly fine with that. It's not just DG that got nurglified after all. That said, you're not gonna at least wait until you have the DG codex to pass sentence?

What were you fighting? You may also consider changing the match up. Death guard is kind of on the short end of the stick this edition until you get your codex and if someone is playing a fully optimized list then it might not be just the plague marine's fault.

I will do this every now and then to use the models I picked up in 7th but can't use in DG anymore - Bikes, Raptors, Oblits etc. As macluvin said, simply don't mix the two or do it in a way that your opponent can easily identify them, for example old Plague Marines being CSM with mark of Nurgle, new larger Plague Marines being "real" Plague Marines.
I'll play them as Renegades. A possibility would also be Black Legion, as they have a subfaction called Bringers of Decay that are basically Nurgle Marines inside BL.

Or you can just run your DG as DG and bring a second detachment of nurgle bikers, heldrake etc

Of course. Though for Aura effects I find it better to have my whole army from one Legion.
