What's the most effective 5 man all comers terminator loadout?

I'm thinking 2 combimelta 2 combiplasma 4 powerfists

4 Combi-Plasma and the Reaper Autocannon. Add 2 Power Fists or Chainfists. Mark them as necessary.

I think combi plasmas are the most flexible, especially if you can support the squad by casting prescience or giving it a reroll on a 1 so that you can overcharge.

People are smarter about bubble wrapping these days, so I feel that against any experienced player, meltas would not find any good targets.

And you have to go with all 5 with plasmas, else if you just want a deep strike delivery of special weapons, its cheaper to just use a raptor squad of 5 because that can take 3 (champion can also take a combi plasma or combi melta).

Terminators may look sturdy, but given that they deep strike so close to the opponent's army, they can be easily killed by focus fire and charging in the opponent's turn. Unless you bring ten in a squad, which is certainly an option (its a huge investment of points though).

For CC weapon, I would just go with Powerfist or Chainfist on the champ and poweraxes, swords, mauls (up to you) on the rest. Not unless you are playing world waters legion. A base terminator only has two attacks, to me, two attacks doesn't justify spending 12 points or more for a powerfist or better. Only the champ's three attacks justify that.

Thanks so much! But the terminator kit doesn't come with any combi plasmas does it?

What about any heavy weapons just leave it out

I personally think the Reaper is good this edition. However I don't stop anyone from not using it as it IS a commitment in points.

For combi-plasma, go to the FW website and get them there along with other bitz you might be missing too.
