I simply want to know what is the cheapest way of getting a few hundred ork boyz (I'm not kidding about the few hundred).
What I can see being the cheapest is taking a mould of the Ork Boyz sprue, but I want to hear if other people have found good ways.

Tricky with boyz, as you want it to be wysiwyg as well as (I assume) looking fairly decent. Ebay is probably your best bet for proper Ork boyz. Most of the third party alternatives are actually more expensive, because they're variations on the Ork model like with russian helmets or robotic legs or whatever.

Ork vehicles are the ones you can do on the cheap, as you can convert them from plasticard and bitz pretty easily. For the actual models... I mean I guess you can make a mould but I suspect it will look pretty ropey unless you're an expert on the process. Certainly wouldn't pass official tournament inspection if it's a place that requires x% official GW model.

Find players that have gotten the Shadow War A, stuff, it came with some orks see if you cant get them off of them.

Look at craigslist.

Ask your Local for a discount if you buy X amount of dollars, get starter boxes and other boxes where the price is already cheaper.

Battle for Vedros sets. Lots of cheap Orks there. Failing that, see if you can find Assault on Black Reach Orks. A ton of them can still be found on the cheap.

On Ebay, Ork Boyz are probably the cheapest and most common miniature in existance. Really, you can see packs of 20-30 Ork boyz for like 10€

Thanks everyone.

I've found out my club has like ten slot-base orks so I'll see if there willing to trade some old cultists for them. I know this is not in the 100s but at least it is a start. The ebay listings are way cheaper than what I have found so far, and I hadn't thought of craigslist. Thanks.
