I have enough models from my 3 Space Hulk sets and from buying various other models over the years, and from buying Know No Fear. I'd like to get the 8th edition Codex for each unit, but I also can't really justify buying a whole codex for a single unit.

Here's what I have and what I think I'll need:

1. Blood Angel terminators, including sergeants, Blood Angels Death Company, and Librarian Dreadnought - Codex Blood Angels

2. Genestealers, including Brood Lord, Maleceptor, Hive Guard - I think I'll need Codex Tyranids for this (or is there a separate one for regular genestealers?)

3. I also have Know No Fear
a. Primaris Marines from that set (intercessors, inceptors, Captain, Hellblasters) - If I want these to be Blood Angels, I believe this will all be covered by the Codex Blood Angels?
b. Plague Marines, Lord of Contagion, Pox Walkers and Bloat Drone - Will this be covered in a Codex Death Guard book?

Are these correct?

4. I would also like to buy a Helbrute/Dreadnought to add to the plague marines. Will that be in the Death Guard Codex book, or is it in another book like Chaos Space Marines? If it's not in a book I'll already need, is there a way to get the 8th edition datasheet without having to buy an entire other book when I only need the one datasheet?

I think you would be better off just with the indexes, personally.

Imperium I, Chaos and Xenos 2.

It never ends well

Currently there is no Codex Blood Angels, but they will get one eventually (keyword is eventually here, no one knows when that will be). Until then you you need to use Index: Imperium 1 to use those Blood Angels units. You can also get Codex: Space Marines if you wish to use the updated Terminator rules and point costs, but otherwise Index: Imperium 1 is all you need for the Blood Angels. The Primaris Marines from Know No Fear is covered by the Index as well, but also appears in the Space Marine codex (although the codex is kinda pointless for the primaris marines since you only get extra weapon options, but the Know No Fear models don't have the parts to make those weapons)

Note that some of the ones in Space Hulk can't form a full unit; Blood Angel Terminators can't mix and match weapons like Deathwing Terminators, so the Lightning Claw guy and Thunderhammer/Stormshield guy can't be used as you need 3 more to form a full squad. However you can field them as Captains in Terminator Armor with the appropriate weapons if you wish (especially since the actual captain from Space Hulk serves better as a sergeant).

The Genestealers can be fielded with the normal Tyranids. You need Index: Xenos 2 for this one. Codex Tyranids isn't going to be out for a while (I think the projection is early November, at best) Genestealers also appear in the Genestealer Cult (under the name Purestrain Genestealers) so that may be where the confusion arises. Purestrains are apparently slightly better than the Tyranid version (forgot why, I think it was with their deployment rules?) but Genestealers already rip face so there's little need to form a GSC detachment just for the Purestrains.

As for the Plague Marine stuff, yes it will all be covered in the Death Guard Codex. If the Know No Fear stuff is all you got, I suggest selling them or trading them for more primaris stuff; initial rumors seem like the majority of Death Guard stuff will be underwhelming and you need the casters to me of any use, which didn't come in Know No Fear.

Finally, the Death Guard Codex will most likely feature it's own entry for the Helbrute (since all of the promo pictures show the helbrute with the rest of the DG force), so if you do wish to field them, you only need the Death Guard Codex.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I should have been a little more clear. I've already got Index: Imperium I and Index: Xenos 2. I'm eventually going to purchase the correct Codexes once they're out, I just wasn't 100% sure which to watch for a release date and wanted to make sure I was matching models/units to the correct upcoming codexes since they won't match what's in the Index books I have. My biggest concern was if they Helbrute would only be in the Chaos Codex, or if it would be included in Death Guard, too, which it sounds like it will be.

Thanks for all of the helpful replies
