I'm thinking about what army to use in 40K and I have a small pile of Marines (with a mixture of MKIV from Battle of Calth), so I'm toying with the idea of a Alpha Legion army. What do you guys think of this...

++ Battalion Detachment +3CP (Chaos - Chaos Space Marines) ++
Legion: Alpha Legion

+ HQ +
Chaos Lord: Blade of the Hydra, Chainsword, No Chaos Mark, Plasma pistol
Chaos Lord: Chainsword, Combi-plasma, No Chaos Mark

+ Troops +
Chaos Space Marines: No Chaos Mark
. Aspiring Champion: Chainaxe, Combi-plasma
. 3x Marine w/ Boltgun
. Marine w/ heavy weapon: Heavy bolter

Chaos Space Marines: No Chaos Mark

++ Vanguard Detachment +1CP (Chaos - Chaos Space Marines) ++
Legion: Alpha Legion

+ HQ +
Warpsmith: Bolt pistol, Flamer, Meltagun, No Chaos Mark, Power axe

+ Elites +
Helbrute: Mark of Slaanesh, Missile launcher, Twin lascannon

Khorne Berzerkers: Icon of Wrath
. Berzerker Champion: Bolt pistol, Chainsword
. 4x Chainaxe and bolt pistol: 4x Chainaxe
. 4x Chainsword and bolt pistol
. Chainsword and plasma pistol: Chainsword, Plasma pistol
. Chainsword and plasma pistol: Chainsword, Plasma pistol

++ Spearhead Detachment +1CP (Chaos - Chaos Space Marines) ++
Legion: Alpha Legion

+ HQ +
Chaos Lord in Terminator Armour: Combi-plasma, Mark of Slaanesh, Power sword

+ Heavy Support +
Obliterators: Mark of Slaanesh, 3x Obliterator
Obliterators: Mark of Slaanesh, 3x Obliterator
Obliterators: Mark of Slaanesh, 3x Obliterator

The idea is to use the Alpha Legion Stratagem to get the Berzerkers close and then teleport down the Obliterators to shoot stuff. Lots of Marks of Slaanesh mean I can use the double shot stratagem. I'm sort of happy with this list but think it needs some more anti-tank weapons in it. Thoughts?

If you're looking to squeeze some more points you could replace some of the marine squads with cultists. You're saving 50 points for each tac squad you replace with cultists so you could outfit a pretty robust Havoc squad if you are in need of some more anti-tank or even a havoc squad of heavy bolters for anti-heavy infantry.

It might be due to modeling, but I would recommend giving the Berzerkers Chainsword and Chainaxes.

With the double attack you will get more damage out of them.that way.

Plus your opponent can't take away front models if you don't shoot at them.

Also I love deep striking Obliterators with the option of double shooting for a total of 24 shots with rerolls from the deepstriking Term Lord
