So I've been going through the cards, and here's my best guess for what each thing is (extrapolations in brackets):

  • Test Pilot "Blackout": Appears to be the name of the PS7 TIE Silencer pilot, and his pilot ability shows "is ob..." which almost certainly means "is obstructed," but there's not much to go on besides that.

  • Cro[ssguard] Form[ation]: B/SF-17 only. Title. When de[fending, if there] is at least [one other] Resistance [Bomber at Range] 1-2 of the [attacker, you may] add [1 [EVADE] result].

  • "Crimson Leader": When attacking, if the defender is inside your firing arc, you may spend 1 [HIT] or [CRIT] result to assign the "Rattled" Condition card to the defender.

  • Rattled: When you suffer damage from a bomb, you suffer 1 additional critical damage. Then remove this card. Action: Roll 1 attack die. On a [FOCUS] or [HIT] result, remove this card.

  • First Order Vanguard: TIE Silencer only. Title. When attacking, if the defender is the only ship in your firing arc at Range 1-3, you may reroll 1 attack die. When defending, you may discard this card to reroll all of your defense dice.

  • Debris ???: Small ship only. Action: [Assign] 1 evade token [to your ship] for each [obstacle at Range] 1, to a maximum [of 2.]

  • Adv[anced] Op[tics]: You cannot [have more than] 1 focus token. During the [End phase, do] not remove [an unused focus] token [from your ship].

  • Th[reat] Tra[cker]: Small ship only. When ???

  • Trajectory Simulator: When you [drop a bomb after] you reveal [your maneuver] dial, you m[ay choose to launch] it using th[e (5-straight) template instead.]

  • The reason I've included alternate text for Trajectory Simulator is that the card preview differs in its text from what is shown in the fanned out card image. Speculation is that the text may be a last minute change to clarify how it works with other bomb-related nonsense in the game. More importantly though, the concept of "launching" bombs seems to be distinct from "dropping" them. In this sense, my prediction is that it is a method of placing bombs out of the front guides of the ship rather than the rear guides.

Also, note on the Crossguard Formation, it looks like this might be the first time an upgrade card's effect specifically references a sub-faction (here, it clearly says "Resistance"). This could set the precedent for an X-Wing fix that has a "Rebel Alliance" limitation or something similar.

More likely "Resistance Bomber" is simply referring to the colloquial name that the B/SF-17 is known by. The article makes multiple references to it by that name.

But AFAIK, there is no rules precedent for referring to a ship by its "colloquial" name in any current game mechanics. So there would need to be some kind of ruling to specify that. What I would suspect (if it does indeed say "Bomber") is that we will get specific rules explaining that upgrade cards can reference factions sub-factions, and that Bomber will target any ship with "Bomber" in the name (like the way TIE refers to all TIE-series ships, or X-Wing refers to both types), which will future-proof this card if they want all Resistance bomber-type craft to use it. (EDIT: Or it will fall under the current set of rulings regarding limit/requirement text).

Another alternative is that it might even say "Resistance faction ship", but I think that's less likely given the picture of 3 bombers and the flavor of the card.

I have never understood why Kylo Ren is a PS 9 pilot.

He has shown zero piloting ability in the movies.

Not every force user is some kind of great pilot.

Piloting ability probably has very little to do with genetics either.

Maybe Kylo got training from Han, or it is because he is a Jedi, They haven't show what his "Power" is or anyone for that matter.

I'm sad to see that the new ships are just re-sculpts of known ships. So we get a edgier Interceptor and a Huge B-wing :(

Plus Kylo is 35 points for a small ship?!

Oh boy, the edgy middle schooler Interceptor! Finally, just what nobody wanted. And the Rylo Ken one is as much as Coran Horn? I mean, it can take autothrusters, which is welcome, but, is ISYTDS worth that much? The statline is nice at least, two more hull than an E-Wing, 1 less shield, so gain of 1 damage, but I'm interested in what the other pilot does.

Somehow, a part of me suspects that the original concept might have been a "hit enemy" trigger, so you'd have this nice trifecta of Kylo abilities. The low-PS, beefy shuttle wants to get hit, the high-PS, aggressive interceptor wants to hit the enemy, and the crew card just sits in the chair and does nothing but hand out the condition.

Alas, for whatever reason, this is not what we got.

    Ok, first impressions:

Space B-17: I'm not seeing it. Sure, 12 HP for ~22 points is a ton, but it's still a ship with a 2-dice primary gun. And what exactly are you going to do with the bombs that can't already be done by Nym/Miranda and bomblet generator? The option to deploy a dial-reveal bomb with a 5-straight doesn't seem anywhere near good enough to make up for being terrible at everything else. You just end up with a ship that is great at not dying, but has no compelling reason to stay alive.

Crimson Leader: ugh, more proxy names because Disney can't bother giving FFG actual character names. And what utter trash. You sacrifice all firepower (good luck hitting anything with only a 2-dice gun if you're canceling your own hits) in exchange for an extra point of damage on a bomb. Remember how Sabine adds the same extra point of damage, but also works on bombs dropped by any ship in your list and can even hit ships that weren't the initial target of the bomb? Yeah, I can't see how this is even vaguely useful.

Ordnance silos: utter trash. Maybe if bomblet generator didn't exist this wouldn't be terrible, but it does and it is. If you want unlimited bombs you can just take a bomblet generator and be done with it. If you want action bombs (which don't work with the special bomb upgrade, defeating the entire purpose of this ship) you can just take extra munitions on a much better platform for them (k-wings).

Trajectory simulator: marginal at best. Yeah, it gets bombs into interesting places, but so does advanced sensors with boost and barrel roll (because let's be honest here, as long as Nym exists you are taking Nym) and dropping a bomb really far behind you seems a lot less interesting than getting a ton of different angles for the bomb.

TIE totally-not-an-avenger: oh dear god no. Remember how e-wings are bad, except the combination of Corran's double tap ability and R2-D2? Great, now we get an imperial e-wing, except it can't evade or regenerate HP. An extra +1 HP doesn't come anywhere near making up for these drawbacks. Unless there's something absolutely amazing in one of the hidden cards I can't see how this is good.

Kylo Ren: JFC FFG, what were you on when you made this? I get that it's neat to have pilots keep their abilities across different ships, but you're already changing things by making him PS 9 instead of PS 6. So why, if you aren't committed to baggage from the shuttle, would you give a PS 9 arc dodger that will cost a minimum of ~40 points and has no HP regen option a pilot ability that requires you to take damage? It's great when it's on a massive brick of HP and jousting efficiency like the shuttle, where you're happy to take damage as long as you deal damage in return. But if your PS 9 arc dodger is taking hits at all you've already screwed up. And just to add insult to injury you don't even get an immediate payoff for taking damage, you still have to find a way to deliver a crit to your target. The only way I can possibly see Kylo being good is if something in the hidden cards makes the ship itself good, and you take him just to get PS 9 with a blank pilot ability.

First order vanguard: hey, you know what's great? A card that's literally blank against half the meta (100-point Biggs, which spends the whole game in close formation), situational against the other half, and not even all that spectacular under ideal circumstances. I mean, you'll probably take it, because you're almost certainly paying 2 points for more than 2 points worth of HP saved, but that first ability is pretty weak and it's a disappointing title in general.

Adv* Op*: finally, almost all the way through the wave, and we have something at least somewhat relevant. It pretty clearly seems to be the focus counterpart to comm relay, and it's going to be good for the same reasons. Bank a token on a turn when you're out of the fight, come in with action economy, and replace it later. Or, in the case of Poe, just permanently have a focus for your pilot ability. Does this make Poe good? I'm not sure, but I'm eager to try it.

I'm thinking the launching of bombs will mimick the mechanic found in the Imperial Veterans special mission.

Launch bomb on reveal, or after maneuver, and then use your ship as a blocker to make sure the enemy remains in the area of the bomb. I guess.

This seems a bit underwhelming considering that Star Wars Episode VIII will be coming out at the same time as Wave 13. The trailers so far show a lot more ships then these too. So maybe they are saving those for future expansions? Just seems like FFG is missing an opportunity here.

FFG has said that this wave will be released first quarter of 2018 so it will be out well after the new film, why? who knows. They have gone with the generic names for unique pilots again like they did with the episode 7 stuff so it suggests that they are getting limited info from the mouse. Was more looking forward to the Resistance A-Wing with Poe, Luke, Rey and generic, instead we got this...

For some reason the Silencer is coming in a box not blister (at least according to the preview) hopefully that means there will be tons of extra content not shown, a campaign would be nice. Either that or FFG are really taking the mickey. Also one SKU is missing still, could be the A-Wing, FO bomber (both shown in film clips) or something new for scum that's top secret.

My 2 cents are a resounding meh, new tech looks like it could be good (but as a scum player of no use to me) don't care about anything else.

I'll be honest, I was surprised by the price. There is bound to be an extra 15$ tacked-on for us Canucks. I can always use more autothrusters cards, but yeah...

I'm super-hyped about the movie. I'm not sure I like those. In my mind, the bomber looked more like a small capital ship, maybe that new warship the described in Aftermath. But I'm willing to withhold final judgement. We'll see.
