Hi everyone, I'm a girl who's interested in wargaming. Madness! But here's how it started:

Last April, I was running a Dungeons & Dragons campaign set in mythic Greece, and I wanted to use miniatures. Standard miniatures being expensive and not matching the setting, I started with the Age of Mythology board game and the Arcane Legions starter set off Miniature Market. Later on, I picked up a few sets of Caesar and Alliance 1/72 miniatures for Amazons, undead, etc.
Last month, when the campaign ended, I pulled out the Arcane Legions figures I bought and got a friend to actually play a game of it. I found myself wishing I'd bought before Miniature Market sold out of the booster bricks. I started hunting, and was set to make a good deal on it all from a boardgamegeek.com user called newtruthneomaxim, but he went silent. :(
So I'm looking at learning to paint 1/72 miniatures, choosing a wargame, and building armies. This seemed a good place to learn.

You can find many tutorials on this site and on youtube, although the scale is usualy larger. That said, painting something that small isn't very difficult since you're not really expected to go into detail.

Fellow 1/72 gamer here. I'm not anything special as a painter, but doing my best to improve - this might be helpful to you: https://skinflintgames.wordpress.com/2017/05/08/painting-the-hazzard-1977th-40k-in-172/

I'd be interested to hear what minis you find with a more fantasy/ sci fi slant, our scale isn't massively well catered for in that respect. Anyway, welcome to Dakka!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
