Hi all,
I've been working making new terrain for me and some friends and so far have pumped out a quiet a few buildings, but still looking for some more different terrain types that would make the game more fun.
So what's your favorite types of terrain, be it buildings, forests etc.
personally i like a practical terrain that i can use for cover and LOS blocking, so buildings are mine but looking to expand

I like 6x12 boards with a Wall on 3 sides (ruined walls) that are random wall sizes from 1" to 6" for LoS blocking.
I also like Pipes b.c i like risk vs rewards

Ruins with windows large enough to fit an Earthshaker barrel through it, I quite enjoyed my houses of pain with artillery cannons poking out of every window and raining death from above.

I like what I call building hills. Massive LOS-blocking squares that you can't enter, but you can get on top of easily.

Ruined building corners with two usable levels and modeled stairs or ladders for access points. Hate new gw terrain and cover rules. Would always house rule these until they get fixed.

Um, it is the combination that is a wanted thing:
- (Complete line of sight block, impassable) I made a full armored factory that was pretty close to a one foot cube (closed up). No windows to shoot through to the other side, no surprises. I am thinking of making a different "brother" to this one. Huge walls or a "checkpoint" gate might work.
- (Area terrain, elevation, some line of sight block) A ruin 2-3 good walls, 2-3 stories and then an intermittent border for the remaining walls with some rubble. I prefer making the "good" walls with no openings for the 1st floor. I get most utility from this.
- (Area terrain, some line of sight block) I like area terrain, forests are good but the new "true line of sight" rules for 40k suck where you may have to create a solid line of trees in the middle of it. I was working on a rubble area terrain as a shanty town with interspersed many small buildings with two walls in a V so they should effectively block line of sight but be completely porous for troop movement.
- (Elevation, with some cover) Basically a sniper nest / guard tower. Usually 3 stories. I used some of that Shadow-war Armageddon terrain for this.
- (General placeable cover) Walls raised rubble, sand bags, cargo containers, stacked barrels stacked crates. These add the nice finishing touches and makes things look more "epic".
The fun is that all of these can be a style of each faction so variety is huge.

My boards usually have a cityscape of some sort on part of it, with a lot of LoS blocking scatter terrain around the edges of it.
I like a lot of catwalks and buildings for infantry cover.
We also use the terrain rules for City Fight, but just not the rest of it and not that much city terrain that it looks like a Necromunda game..lol

“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."
