So, I've noticed that the vast majority of FW models state that they are not supplied with a base (which seems weird, especially when you're talking about models like the Tantalus that absolutely require one), but I have looked all over the website and cannot for the life of me find any bases that FW actually sells. So where do you get bases for Forgeworld models?

The model the OP mentioned does not - despite clearly needing one (its a skimmer).

You'll need to get the required parts from Games Workshop (or on eBay). Doesn't make much sense to me to not include it but I don't know how they run their supply lines between GW and FW. At least they let you know.

Oh damn i guess you are right.

Im guessing its because they dont actually have a proper base for it.

noticing its on a monster oval. and clearly they used a metal rod to keep it up.

Hmm
Havent noticed on the stuff i have bought as they all came whit base, but then again they where normal sized models that fits on a 40 or 60mm base.

if a model from them does not come whit a base, i guess the pagage is smaller then the size of a suitable base?

Some stuff pre-dates a suitable base for it (the 'new' flyer base, for example). If you get in touch with FW Customer Service they'll be able to suggest which one to use (and possibly throw it in as well)

If it helps, in the past I had to do a Tantalus (which was also probably the worst FW kit Ive ever experienced) and used a Knight sized base with an acrylic rod, seemed to fit well.

I've heard that about that Tantalus, that it is a nightmare to get together. Pity, because it's such a great model.

The Porphyrion doesn't have a Base either. There are some of their things that have no base, mostly the ones that have obscure dimensions and would need a base that was either NOT around at the time of their creation, or still has no base that matches up with the mounting.

EDIT - I was thinking with the Porphyrion of putting bases under both feet, big enough rounders to do it, so I can do a themed base under those behemoth feet.
