Hi everyone

I'm trying to make my 1000 point 7th edition ork army into a 2000 point 8th edition army.
The aim is to not buy too much more stuff and make do with what i've already got painted up (with some exceptions).
I have the following already painted: 60 boys, 10 lootas, 8 bikes, 2 kans and 3 trukks, big mek with SAG, 2 deffkoptas
And am working on the following: 1 warboss on bike, 1 big mek with KFF, 5 tankbustas, 5 kommandos, 4 deffkoptas
I'm really keen to add a weirdboy, ghaz and a morkanaut, mainly because i love the models. I'm also keen to get some stormboys, but daunted about painting 30 of the buggers.

Here's a list that i think combines what i've got with what i'd like to add. I'm not going for super competitive, but i'd like to stand a chance!

Command points, 3 + 3 + 1 + 1 = 8

So might not be the most competitive list, there's a lot of toys in there. The plan is to be very mobile, with the weirdboy jumping the boys around, the deffkoptas scouting on, and the trukks delivery ghaz and the nobs where ever the fighting is the best. I'm tempted to change the deffkoptas for a big unit of stormboys.

Any advice? Glaring errors?

Re STORMBOYZ
Instead of 1 Big unit of Storm boys how about several small units backed by Zagstruk? He buffs their leadership, can contribute hardily to their CC ability and you have the opportunity for multiple free nobz with bigchoppas (have to pay for those of course). They can split off and grab objectives. If cost is an issue, consider a box or two normal sluggaboyz and slap on a rocket. Then use Stormboy box for Nobz.

Try proxying the Trucks as battle wagons for a few games.

Weirdboy is a good choice to purchase top priority IMO.

Scratch build your gunz.

I have been resistant to use tank bustas in 7th, but holy crap they are goood now. You can use the same strategy with them as your storm boyz. Buy 6 boxes of boyz. Build 30 Stormboyz. Build 6 tank bustas. Build 6 nobz. Build 24 Boyz.

Saved you some cash there.

It's actually a decent casual list, against people that are not training for tournaments you should do ok. You're a bit short on bodies, lots of stormboyz would be way better than koptas.

Alternatively you can drop the outrider detachment and replace it with a vanguard detachment with the nobz, and 2x5 tankbustas, you only need to add two bustas. With the spared points field more boyz, stormboyz or kommandos, maybe big choppas for the nobz unit, IMHO that's their best tool.

Thanks guys, yeah im thinking its probably best to add the stormboys. I see your point about multiple small units, but i think i might go the large blob of stormboys initially to save on drops.
So with a few changes it looks like this

Digging this list. Make sure to move advance the boyz first so the naut can adjust accordingly to keep them in the kff. It won't be an issue after you jump them of course.
