Has anyone else pre-ordered something off the GW webstore, directly to their place of residence, and had it arrive earlier than normal? As in, a day or two before it's even meant to ship?

I ordered the Space Marines Codex + some extra things, and had the order arrive the friday before it was meant to ship. With the Saturday shipping date, it's predicted to arrive the following week. It was the first time I'd made a pre-order, so thought nothing of it.

Second time, this time ordering Morty and the Death Guard Codex that's meant to ship Saturday 16th, and arrive some time next week. And had it show up at my door today, at around lunch time. Now, I get it. This sounds like the opposite of a problem, don't look a gift horse in the mouth ect.

No, I preordered the index directly from gw, because most companies have the situation you describe. They'll ship direct orders early to make sure you have it on release. Instead I got my index several days after everyone that ordered from the FLGS got theirs. I was a bit peeved.

I preordered a bunch when the Gathering Storm books were coming out, consistently got them the middle of the week *after* my FLGS had them released.

Humm no - usually it's the opposite problem for me and my friends. If we order from GW to ship to our houses it takes much longer than the expected date. Usually though If I order and have shipped to a GW store I get it the day it projects.
