I'm on the last model of my Eldar army, a Hemlock Wraithfighter. I've been totally obsessive about magnetizing anything that can be magnetized, which was totally worth it; I now have all weapons choices available to me on my Writhguard, Wraithlord, War Walkers and Wave Serpents.

I planned on doing the same with my flyer, then I could use it for either the wraithfighter or the hunter. The three differences between the wriathfighter and the hunter are the small side wings, the top pieces, and the weapons. After looking at the models, although I'm confident I can do it, it seems like magnetizing all of these parts might be more difficult than I imagined.

I thought of gluing in some parts of the hunter and some parts of the wraithfighter, then having the model be determined by the magnetized weapon choice, but I don't really like the look of any mixed combinations, I prefer the straight wraithfighter look.

My question is this: if I were to model my flyer with all of the wraithfighter parts, then magnetize the guns, would using the bright lances or starcannons be enough to call it a Crimson Hunter for the purposes of WYSIWYG?

I ended up doing this, I sort of liked that piece from the hunter after looking at it a bit more.

One thing I'd note is that each of the wing guns (scythes, starcannons and lances) has a different connecting port, so that will take thought ahead of time (I only worked it out after the hull was together, doh!) to homogenize.

I ended to just cutting of the connection piece and super gluing a magnet right on the end.
